No. As of August 2026 there is no adult-use cannabis dispensary in Peabody, Massachusetts, and under the city's current zoning there is no legal way for one to open.
That is not a hole in somebody's listings. It is a decision Peabody made, and it is written into two public records you can check yourself in about five minutes. Here is what they say.
The Cannabis Control Commission publishes every active cannabis licence in Massachusetts as an open dataset. The file updated on August 14, 2026 holds 956 active licences. 458 of them are Marijuana Retailer licences, which is the licence a store needs to sell cannabis to adults 21 and over.
Thirty-six of those 458 sit in Essex County. None is in Peabody. Widen the search to every licence type in the file, cultivators and manufacturers and couriers included, and Peabody still returns nothing. Not one active cannabis licence of any kind.
The Commission also keeps a municipal zoning tracker covering all 351 Massachusetts cities and towns. Peabody's adult-use entry reads "Ban in place." The Commission defines that status as a municipality that "has enacted zoning ordinances or bylaws prohibiting all types of Marijuana Establishments."
The distinction matters more than it sounds. The block is municipal, not state. No application was denied in Boston. The city zoned adult-use cannabis out, and only the city can zone it back in.
Two things, and both surprise people who assume a ban is total.
Under the 2026 session law, licensed adult-use delivery reaches the whole state unless a municipality that does not authorize retailers has obtained a waiver from the Commission. Some banned towns took that waiver. Avon, Foxborough and Needham all show "Delivery banned" on the tracker with a waiver ID and an expiry date against their name.
Peabody did not. Peabody's tracker entry reads "Delivery permitted," with no waiver on file. So a licensed Delivery Operator can legally bring adult-use cannabis to a Peabody address even though no store is allowed to open on a Peabody street. That is the single most useful thing on this page for most residents.
A Medical Marijuana Treatment Center is not a Marijuana Establishment, and an adult-use zoning ban does not govern it. Medical cannabis delivery is available in all 351 municipalities in the state, Peabody included, for patients holding a Massachusetts medical card.
Counting only Marijuana Retailer licences that have reached final licensure and commenced operations, which is the difference between a store you can walk into and a licence somebody is still holding:

Danvers is the row worth stopping on. It borders Peabody, it has a well-known cannabis store on Electronics Avenue, and a great many "dispensaries near Peabody" pages list it as an adult-use option.
It is not one. That address holds licence RMD1127, a Medical Marijuana Treatment Center. The same operator holds adult-use retail licences in Gardner and Woburn and a provisional one in Saugus, but not in Danvers. Drive there without a Massachusetts medical card and you cannot buy anything. The nearest adult-use counters to Peabody are in Lynn and Salem.

A Massachusetts medical card takes a certification from a registered provider and a state registration. Patients get access in towns where adult-use is banned, no adult-use excise tax, and higher possession limits.
AC is building a dispensary at 25 Newbury Street in Peabody. Newbury Street is US Route 1, on the stretch nearest the Route 128 and I-95 interchange. It opens as a medical dispensary serving registered Massachusetts patients, because medical is the route the city's zoning leaves open, and it will be the first Latino-owned cannabis dispensary in Massachusetts.
There is no announced opening date. When there is one it will come from the licence rather than from us guessing at it, and it goes to the email list on the Peabody page first.
AC has been licensed in Massachusetts since November 2021 and growing commercially in Lowell since September 2023, under cultivation licence MC283314, a Tier 2 indoor licence at 100 Phoenix Avenue. Its flower has won 24 NECANN awards over four years under one Lead Cultivator. Until the Peabody store opens, AC reaches Peabody the same way any adult-use product legally can right now, which is delivery.
