Peabody bans adult-use stores

Peabody does not allow adult-use cannabis stores. On the Cannabis Control Commission's municipal zoning tracker, Peabody's adult-use entry reads "Ban in place". The Commission defines that as a municipality that "has enacted zoning ordinances or bylaws prohibiting all types of Marijuana Establishments."

The ban is municipal, not state. The city zoned adult-use cannabis out, and only the city can zone it back in.

A Medical Marijuana Treatment Center holds a different licence. It is not a Marijuana Establishment, and the adult-use zoning ban does not govern it. Medical is the route the city's zoning leaves open, so AC Peabody is a medical dispensary.
