Medford has one entry on the Cannabis Control Commission's Where to Buy list, Hi5 on Mystic Avenue, marked adult-use, and the tracker records adult-use zoning with a retail license cap. A medical patient looks to the Somerville shops, which are closer than any Medford row. Peabody is about 20 minutes by car.
| Shop (as the Commission lists it) | Address | License type on the list |
|---|---|---|
| Hi5 | 162 Mystic Avenue, Medford, MA 02155 | Adult-use |
The row is marked adult-use only. The Commission's open license file, updated October 22, 2026, shows three active Marijuana Retailer licenses in Medford, only one of which, at 162 Mystic Avenue, has started operations, and one Medical Marijuana Treatment Center at that same address. The sheet names the shop Hi5 and the license file names the licensee Theory Wellness, so the two lists use different names for one door. For a patient, the nearest medical entries on the sheet are Revolutionary Clinics on Broadway in Somerville (about 2.4 miles by straight line from City Hall) and Liberty Cannabis on Somerville Avenue (about 2.6).
Closest to Medford City Hall, by straight line and not by road: Trinity Naturales (Chelsea), Kush Groove (Cambridge), Prolific (Boston) and Boutiq East Boston (Boston). Each is on AC's partner list as of October 31, 2026 and had an AC order within the 90 days before this page was built. Menus change, so check before you go.
| Shop | Town | Distance | License | AC listed |

The Municipal Zoning Tracker, read October 31, 2026, gives Medford adult-use "Zoning in place; retail license cap", delivery "Delivery permitted" and social consumption "No zoning in place". A cap limits how many retail licenses the city will allow. The tracker does not give the number and neither does this page.
Malden and Melrose read "Zoning in place" on adult-use, and Stoneham and Winchester read "Ban in place". The tracker calls itself a general guide and gives no bylaw text, so the Medford town clerk is the source for what a street or a business may do.
The Census Bureau estimated 59,898 residents in Medford on July 1, 2024 (an estimate, not the 2020 count). It covers 8.1 square miles of land and 0.6 of water.
West Medford is the MBTA commuter rail station in Medford, on the Lowell Line. The state lists Middlesex Fells Reservation trailheads in Medford, at parking areas on South Border Road.
The medical card process is the same everywhere in Massachusetts: a certifying provider, a PIN by email, then registration with the Commission, which charges nothing.
From Medford City Hall on George P. Hassett Drive to 25 Newbury Street the router gives about 11 miles and about 20 minutes by car in light traffic. Take Salem Street and Pleasant Street, which carry Route 60, east through Malden, then Route 99 north on Broadway to join US 1 north, which becomes Newbury Street in Peabody.
Route 60 and Route 99 are city streets with many lights and they slow at rush hour. Advanced Dispensary will serve registered medical patients and caregivers only.
The Where to Buy sheet lists one Medford shop, marked adult-use. The closest Medical entries are in Somerville.
It limits how many retail licenses the city allows. The tracker gives no number.
Advanced Cultivators (AC) grows in Lowell, Massachusetts, under cultivation license MC283314. Advanced Dispensary, its medical dispensary at 25 Newbury Street on US Route 1, is being renovated for registered patients and caregivers. Medford patients drive up Route 1 through Saugus to reach it. No opening date has been announced; the patient list on the Peabody page hears first.

The shop list was copied on October 23, 2026; the zoning tracker, license counts and drive times were read on October 31, 2026; the population, area, station and park facts were read on November 1, 2026. The Commission publishes the shop list and the tracker without an updated date and says to confirm details with the town.
Shop names, addresses and tracker entries are copied from public records. This page does not rank shops, give medical or legal advice, or make any claim about health.
