Stoneham has no row on the Commission's Where to Buy list and an adult-use ban on its zoning tracker, so a Stoneham reader looks to the next town over. The nearest shop on the list is a medical dispensary in Woburn, about 3.4 miles from Town Hall in a straight line. Peabody is about 14 minutes away by car, from the Route 28 exit of I-95 straight to US 1.
The Where to Buy sheet (October 23, 2026 copy) has no row for Stoneham. These are the closest rows by straight line from Stoneham Town Hall: Woburn about 3.4 miles, Saugus about 4.2, Melrose about 4.3 and Malden about 4.4.

The Municipal Zoning Tracker, read October 31, 2026, gives Stoneham adult-use "Ban in place", delivery "Delivery permitted" and social consumption "No zoning in place". The Commission describes a ban as a municipality that has enacted zoning ordinances or bylaws prohibiting all types of Marijuana Establishments.
Stoneham borders seven towns: Woburn, Winchester, Medford, Malden, Melrose, Wakefield and Reading. They differ on the tracker: Melrose reads "Zoning in place" for adult-use, Medford reads "Zoning in place; retail license cap", and Woburn, Winchester, Wakefield and Reading read "Ban in place". The tracker calls itself a general guide and gives no bylaw text, so the Stoneham town clerk is the source for what a street or a business may do.
The Census Bureau estimated 24,550 residents in Stoneham on July 1, 2024 (an estimate, not the 2020 count). It covers 6.0 square miles of land and 0.6 of water.
The state lists the Middlesex Fells Reservation at 4 Woodland Road in Stoneham. Spot Pond is at the center of the reservation, which has more than 100 miles of trails. The state lists free parking at the Stone Zoo and at the Sheepfold area on Route 28.
The medical card process is the same everywhere in Massachusetts: a certifying provider, a PIN by email, then registration with the Commission, which charges nothing.

I-95 and Route 128 are one road here and they slow down at rush hour. Advanced Dispensary will serve registered medical patients and caregivers only.
There is no Stoneham shop on the Commission's list and the tracker shows an adult-use ban. Woburn is the closest town with a listed medical shop.
